Our capabilities span individual machine controls to large network manufacturing controls systems with MES interface. Our control system engineering team is responsible for designing, developing, installing, and maintaining systems which are used to control and monitor automation machinery. ABCO control systems engineers will analyze a project's requirements as well as the mechanical design of the machine in order to create a controls system that will function in the desired manner.
Our team of controls engineers, technicians, and designers are well-rounded with all major controls suppliers, including Allen-Bradley, Siemens, and Beckhoff to name a few. Control System Design
The ABCO controls team develops quality design packages for controls and systems integration. Our process includes:
Assessing safety risks
Defining data structure layout and data flow models
Selecting the physical communication media, network architecture, and protocols
Developing a functional description of the automation solution: control scheme, alarms, HMI, and reports using the established rules to guide development and programming
As part of the design process, we will perform safety and/or hazard analyses, security analyses, and regulatory compliance assessments by identifying key issues and risks in order to comply with the applicable standards, policies, and regulations of each client. All system design documentation includes control panel layouts, bills of material, electrical schematics, detailed functional control specifications, operations manuals, and all source code.
Software Development And Programming
Our processes for development and programming of controls systems include:
Developing HMI, database, and reporting functions in accordance with the design documents to the functional requirements
Reviewing configuration and programming using defined practices in order to establish compliance with functional requirements
Developing control configuration or programming
Implementing security methodology to mitigate loss and risk
Designing a testing plan to execute appropriate testing relative to functional requirements
Assembling required documentation and user manuals created during the development process in order to transfer essential knowledge to our clients and end users
